Unpaid Endorsement: The Road to Growth Podcast

Entrepreneurship is not comfortable. You might have comfortable seasons where you let yourself recover and recharge. But as long as you want growth, you can’t stay comfortable. Comfort can lead to complacency, which is the surest way to let a business die.

On his Road to Growth Podcast, Vinnie Enriquez wants to punch holes in the idea that entrepreneurship is a linear, straightforward path to success as long as you’re willing to set things in motion. Filing your own LLC is a great first step, for sure! You have to open a business before you can reap its benefits, after all.

But if your Plan A fails, are you willing to draft a Plan B? Or are you willing to quit because you’re being honest with difficult truths about the harder aspects of building, running, and scaling a successful business?

Successful entrepreneurship involves a willingness to address difficult situations with your employees and yourself. A fear of rejection doesn’t pay your bills or correct underperforming teammates.

Successful entrepreneurship also lets go of any pride surrounding an original, self-declared “brilliant” idea.

In year one of opening my business, I was too scared to prospect and pitch clients quickly and decisively. Worse, when I finally got around to it, I struggled to really evaluate and refine my process. Private tutoring covered the majority of my expenses.

Was I willing to settle for this? My actions revealed everything.

Vinnie and I have a raw, open conversation around the warts of my journey and next actions to make sure my dream becomes a reality. If you like what I’ve shared here, check out the entire episode!
